Steampunk allows props and costumes to be bold and stand out. Because of this, a simple lighting plan allows the scene to be seen clearly, but still creates a compatible atmosphere with the steampunk setting. A simple gold lighting that compliments the costumes and props, like the lighting seen in the pictures above. The idea is for the light to be angled at the front and sides of the actors, so they’re clearly seen, but also so it casts a shadow behind the actors. This creates a mysterious scene that accentuates the props and costumes. The manner of this lighting is simple but gives light to the dark settting of steampunk.
